Linked Data Appearance

Linked Data Appearance is used to configure the display of remote attributes in Polarion Work Items.

These remote attributes belong to the items that are linked to the Polarion item.

To show linked item attributes in Polarion without opening the Linked Data delegated UI:

  1. Log on to Polarion with administrator permissions, select the scope (global or project level) and enter Administration.

    (Administration.)

  2. Enter the Linked Data Appearance section to configure the remote attribute(s) that you want to show for your target remote item type(s).

    (AdministrationLinked DataLinked Data Appearance.)

    The corresponding remote item types are defined in Linked Data Semantics and Linked Data Mapping.

    (More information about the XML configuration is found on the configuration page.)

  3. Enter Work Item Form Configuration and select your target Work Item type.

    (AdministrationWork ItemsForm Configuration.)

  4. Configure your target Work Item type by adding the following extension:

    <extension id="OSLCExtension" label="Linked Change Requests" oslcType="oslc_cm:ChangeRequest"/>

    (You can customize the label text and oslcType is defined in Linked Data Semantics.)

    Displays the remote (Status) attribute of a linked item directly in the Polarion Work Item form.

Note:

There is currently no "translation" of any of the remote attribute values.

(For example, users from Teamcenter could be displayed as "http://teamcenter-server:3000/lis/oslc/users/infodba".)

Examples

A Linked Data Appearance configuration for a Polarion Task:

  1. <remote-attributes-configuration polarionTypes="task" remoteOslcType="oslc_cm:ChangeRequest">
      <attribute label="Status" oslc="oslc_cm:status"/>
      <attribute label="Owning User" oslc="dcterms:creator" visible="false"/>
    </remote-attributes-configuration>
  2. The following is added to the Task Work Item Form Extension.

    <extension id="OSLCExtension" label="Linked Requirement" oslcType="oslc_rm:Requirement"/>
    <extension id="OSLCExtension" label="Linked Change Requests" oslcType="oslc_cm:ChangeRequest"/>

    Result:

    The Linked Change Requests section does not display the Owning User column because its visible flag is set to false. (It shows the Status column instead.)

Linked Data Appearance configuration for Change Requests and Defects:

  1. <remote-attributes-configuration polarionTypes="changerequest,defect" remoteOslcType="oslc_cm:ChangeRequest">
       <attribute label="Status" oslc="oslc_cm:status"/>
       <attribute label="Change Owner" oslc="dcterms:creator"/>
    </remote-attributes-configuration>
    <remote-attributes-configuration polarionTypes="changerequest,defect" remoteOslcType="oslc_rm:Requirement">
       <attribute label="Owning User" oslc="dcterms:creator" visible=”false”/>
    </remote-attributes-configuration>
  2. The following is added to the Change Request and Defect Work Item Form Extension.

    <extension id="OSLCExtension" label="Linked Requirements" oslcType="oslc_rm:Requirement"/>
    <extension id="OSLCExtension" label="CRs" oslcType="oslc_cm:ChangeRequest"/>

    Result:

    The CRs section displays the Change Owner and Status columns and the Linked Requirements section displays the default columns except Owning User.

Linked Data Appearance configuration for the Release Work Item type:

  1. <remote-attributes-configuration polarionTypes="release" remoteOslcType="siemens_esm:SoftwareRelease">
    <attribute label="Size on ROM" oslc="siemens_esm:memorySizeOnROM"/> <attribute label="Software Version" oslc="siemens_esm:softwareVersion"/>
    </remote-attributes-configuration>
  2. The following is added to the Release Work Item Form Extension.

    <extension id="OSLCExtension" label="Linked Software Architectures" oslcType="siemens_esm:SoftwareArchitecture"/>
    <extension id="OSLCExtension" label="Linked Software Releases" oslcType="siemens_esm:SoftwareRelease"/>

    Result:

    The Linked Software Releases section displays the Size on ROM and Software version columns. The Linked Software Architectures section displays the default columns.
